Reflection

Process of creating this blog makes me realise that there are multiple factors that can contribute to media and publishing issue. With all the research, readings and analysing on related current issue of publishing, I understand the fundamental rule of a blogger such as professional code of ethics and morality have to be practice when expressing my opinion in any multimedia. In addition to that, quotes, content and images that are took from other authors and sources are cited using Harvard referencing method and footnote to avoid copyright, defamation and infrindgement issues. After all, opinion and back up information have to be accurate, informative, and up-to-date for a constructive website (Lannon 2006, p.468).

As it could be seen, there are multiple varieties of multimodal modes in the blog. According to Walsh (2006, p.30-31), the multimodal modes in a document will help in conveying the message across to the reader in a stronger way. For example, text, images, video and hyperlinks are the multimodal modes used.

According to Schriver (1997), in order to deliver the message effectively, both text and images have to be present. Thus, texts and images are added into the blog for readers to strengthen their understanding and ease their reading. As supported by Oakley (2005, p.229), written and unwritten material in a text have to be combine in delivering the meaning for analysis to be conducted.

For document designer, there will be a few aspects such as freedom of speech, creativity and ethics that have to be taken into consideration based on the blogosphere surrounding you.
